Terminal units are interface points between the medical gas pipeline systems and medical devices.

Methos NIST Series terminal units are intended for the connection of those surgical tools which make use of compressed air as an energy source.

NIST Series terminal units comply both with standards EN ISO 18082 (shape of probe connection point) and EN ISO 9170-2 (safety and performances requirements).

Methos NIST Series terminal units are composed of:

• a gas-specific base block with check valve with brazing pipe-connection,
• a gas-specific socket complying with EN ISO 5359.

Methos NIST Series sockets shall only be installed on corresponding Methos base-blocks.

Identification data (gas-symbol, manufacturer’s name, lot number) are punched on socket’s body.

Each terminal unit is factory tested before shipment.

Base-block is provided with screw-plug to allow pipeline testing according to applicable standards and wire-terminal for earthing.

A further feature of this component is gas-specific screw-nut for the connection to the pipeline. Internal O-ring ensure suitable gas-tightness.

Boxes are provided with aluminium gas-identification panel and transparent flap-door which protects terminal unit when not in use.
